Braga Museums and Tibães Monastery
Overview
A two-day cultural itinerary. Day 1 covers six museums and the Biscainhos Garden in a roughly 4 km central walking loop. Day 2 is reserved for Tibães Monastery, about 7 km northwest of the centre (roughly 15 km round trip by road); plan local transport and time for the monastery grounds.
Day-by-day itinerary
1Day 1 — Central Museums Walking Loop
- Start at Biscainhos Museum and Garden; continue to Pius XII Museum, D. Diogo de Sousa Archaeology Museum, Image Museum and Nogueira da Silva Museum. Allow time for the collections and about 4 km walking in the historic centre.
2Day 2 — Tibães Monastery Excursion
- Travel about 7 km northwest from central Braga (roughly 15 km round trip by road); visit Tibães Monastery, church and grounds; return to the city centre.
