Located 4 km from the center of Tangier, the 70 hectares that constitute the Perdicaris forest is an authentic botanical garden filled with floral species from all continents, some very exotic, such as the South African honey flower or the white trumpet from the Himalayas, and other endemic species such as the Iris Tingitana. The old Villa Idonia, dating from 1872, with its "nightingale balcony", was the property of the Greek-American millionaire Ion H. Perdicaris, whose kidnapping inspired the film "The Wind and the Lion".
