Jebel al-Buhais

Jebel Al Buhais contains burial grounds and settlement evidence spanning the Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age and later periods. Human remains and grave goods help reconstruct health, diet, mobility and ritual among communities living between mountains, oases and desert routes. The site rewards a slow visit because low walls, tombs, soil changes and scattered structures can be easy to overlook. Use interpretation panels and nearby museums to connect the remains with agriculture, metallurgy, seafaring and trade linking southeastern Arabia with Mesopotamia, Iran and the Indus region. Stay on marked paths, never remove pottery or stone, and avoid climbing. The landscape itself is part of the evidence, showing how water, mountains, desert and coast shaped settlement over thousands of years.
