Roman Bridge of Córdoba

This crossing over the Guadalquivir has Roman origins and has been rebuilt repeatedly over the centuries. It connected Córdoba with routes beyond the city and remained central to its daily life. Walk along it for a view that links the river, bridge and historic skyline. Much of the structure visible today reflects rebuilding under Muslim rule in the 8th century, followed by further interventions. Calling it Roman describes its origins, not an unchanged survival of every stone. That distinction makes it an especially useful example of how essential infrastructure can continue across different civilisations.
