The small souk
The small souk
About this place
Built under the Spanish protectorate at the end of the 17th century, the small souk is the public space par excellence in the medina of Larache. To reach it, one must cross the gate of Bab Barra or the medina. The Little Souk is the center of the square and of the old arms square. The overall space includes the large mosque, a Fondouk for traders located near the entrance to the medina and a public fountain near the gate of the Kasbah.
