The Medina of Ouezzane

Ouezzane spreads like an amphitheater on the northern flank of Mount Bouhlal and the southeastern flank of Mount Bouakika. Its white medina dating from the 18th century is quite authentic. Accessible through several gates, one of the best known is Bab Fatha built in the 17th century in the form of a low arch made of bricks and stones. Because of its spiritual character as the Mecca of Sufism in Morocco, the Medina of Ouezzane is devoid of walls and defense towers.
