About this place
Popularly known as Rue de la Plage, Salah Eddine Al Ayoubi Street is one of the main avenues of Tangier's first extramural extension. Since the beginning of the 19th century, impressive villas such as Villa Mimi Calpé have been built there. However, it was not until the beginning of the 20th century that the development of the area reached its peak, which is illustrated by its heterogeneous cosmopolitan architecture where Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles predominate. The Cervantes Theater and the old Jewish cemetery are nearby.
