Bricha House

About this place

The construction of this large house dates back to the Bricha family time between the years 1866-1876, a family that worked in business and held important positions in the workings of the state and they are among the notables of this city. This palace was built on the ruins of one of the houses of the old Mellah and is the largest house in the city. The main house is characterized by a spacious courtyard with a fountain in the middle, surrounded by twelve columns and a horseshoe arch, both on its lower and upper floors. From an aesthetic and decorative point of view, it is entirely interlaced with authentic zelliges of Tetouan. The house has three doors, two of which open onto the alley of the smooth oven and the third onto the alley of the old Mellah.
